The "Mr. Gay" 2006 (USA) and the International "Mr. Gay" Competitions are owned, produced and trademarked by Community Promotions, LLC. Managing Directors of Community Promotions are Don Spradlin and Thomas Roth. All rights for distribution, broadcasting, reproduction and reuse of any images, collateral or documentation of the Competition network is held by Community Promotions, LLC. Don Spradlin is the Executive Director of these two contest networks: The US Mr. Gay Competition and the International Mr. Gay Competition.
The Mr. Gay 2006 Competition network was established in 2003 with solicitation of contestants and sponsors via advertising and with the initial contest in San Francisco held in 2004. That contest was named the "Cutest of the Castro Contest", and was the first of a series of USA City Contests leading up to the 2005 national finals. The USA National Finals and the International Mr. Gay Competition was awarded to Palm Springs for two years on Columbus Day Weekend of October 6-7, 2006. The Grand Finale of US Competition will be held on Friday night, October 6, 2006, and the International Competition will be held on Saturday night, October 7, 2006, again, at the Riviera Resort & Tennis Club with preliminary Competition events for all Finalists—both US and International—earlier that week in and around the City of Palm Springs.
Preliminary contests leading up to the US Mr. Gay Competition will be held in various cities in the United States. These contests are being produced by licensed City Producers who will assist us in selecting Finalists to compete for the title of the USA Mr. Gay for 2007. Community Promotions will grow the network of City Contest in future years by licensing additional City Producers and is actively seeking qualified City Producers to support this growth plan.
