This inaugural year of the US and International Mr. Gay Competition succeeded in attracting the attention of the AP Wire, which resulted in the news of the Grand Finale being published in over 68 world newspapers, wire services and eZines within 48 hours of the announcement of the International winner, Jesse Bashem.
